Joan T. Rech of Furlong, PA passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. She was 87 years old.

Born in Irvington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bridget (Smith) Dougherty.

Joan was formerly employed with the Central Bucks School System as a reading assistant and later as an administrative assistant for another employer. She enjoyed playing Bridge and volunteered with the Doylestown Hospital for 13 years.

She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late William “Bill” Rech; devoted mother of five children, Donna Guibilo RN (Richard Guibilo), Susan Lee, Sharon Rech (Frank Lindinger), William Rech (Kelli Rech) and Kevin Rech DMD; loving grandmother to her twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Nancy Conlin, and preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Reed and brother, Edward Dougherty (survived by his wife Nancy).

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 10:00-11:00 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Service will begin at 11:00 am.
