Irvin Miller, Jr., of Doylestown, PA, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the age of 69.

Born in Trucksville, PA, to the late Irvin Miller, Sr. and Frances (Rowlands) Miller, Irv previously resided in Solebury Township before relocating to Doylestown in 2012.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg State (now University). Following graduation, Mr. Miller participated in the 1980 Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii, achieving a commendable 44th place worldwide. At George School, he served as Assistant Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher, coaching Cross Country, Wrestling, and Track and Field. He was also known for his engaging physical education classes. Subsequently, Irv joined New Hope-Solebury School as a coach and staff member, recognized for sharing his characteristic dry sense of humor. Throughout his career, he was regarded as an enthusiastic, skilled, and demanding coach. In 2009, alongside Stefan King, he played a key role in re-establishing the Solebury Wrestling team while simultaneously coaching at both New Hope-Solebury and Solebury School. His mantra to wrestlers, “You can do more than you think you can,” exemplified his dedication. Over the course of his career, Irv coached wrestling for 35 years.

Irv was a member of Doylestown Lodge No. 245 F.&A.M. and William Penn Lodge No. 52 F.&A.M. in Philadelphia. A passionate motorcyclist, he spent 13 years as a Motorcycle Safety Instructor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, later excelling in Police Operator Training course; and, then becoming a certified Police Motorcycle Instructor. He was also an avid gun collector who respected wildlife and refrained from hunting. Additionally, Irv embraced survivalism, ensuring his family’s preparedness and participating in specialized training programs such as “Spy Dangerous” in Utah under the guidance of a C.I.A. professional.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Annette (White) Miller; siblings-in-law Jeremiah White, Jr., Allen White, Zachary White, and Gail Manz as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Sandra Ogborn and her husband Orton and Gregory White. He is also survived by his family of pets, Brandy, Wyatt, Grey, and Patty.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA, on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 am, with a service immediately following at 11:00 am.

Interment will take place at Washington Crossing United Methodist Church Cemetery, Washington Crossing, PA. Everyone is welcome to gathering of family and friends at the Cock and Bull Restaurant in Peddler’s Village at Route 263 and, 202 Street Rd, Lahaska, PA 1893.
